International Pianist Performs ‘Rhapsody’ at The Concourse

WILLOUGHBY Symphony Orchestra have welcomed internationally renowned pianist Konstantin Shamray into their elusive folds.

Shamray has a distinguished history, winning the Judges’ and People’s Choice prizes at the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2008, and has worked under the baton of conductors Vladimir Spivakov, Dmitry Liss, Tugan Sokhiev, and Alexandr Vedernikov.

At The Concourse Chatswood on the 27th and 28th of July, Konstantin Shamray, under the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, Dr Nicholas Milton AM, performed “Rhapsody” by Sergei Rachmaninov. Willoughby Symphony Orchestra followed with Alexander Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances”, and Dmirtri Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony written during Stalinist Russia.

After the show, Dr Milton AM revealed Willoughby Symphony Orchestra’s 2025 season details, and what the community can expect in the near future.
