Eco Festival Jam Packed with Green Living Workshops Across Ku-ring-gai

THE Eco Festival is in full swing for September.

To celebrate green living, Ku-ring-gai Council is holding workshops, activities, and events during this spring month, running from the 1st to the 30th of September.

For Father’s Day, a family bush survival workshop is at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden, teaching residents valuable skills.

On the 7th, a performance of the play ‘Hatched’ will accompany workshops on how to turn everyday rubbish into bird critters, and how to create nesting boxes for possums.

An open day at the Swain Gardens at Killara, regarded as a “hidden treasure” and a listed local heritage item, is happening on the 8th of the month.

Free online workshops on the 13th and 18th will teach residents how to achieve healthy, low-cost homes and lifestyles, while activities to create “frog hotels” are on the 21st of September.

Sculpture artist, Tom Buckland, is holding an event on creating cardboard bird sculptures on the 28th, and, on the same day, information on organic gardening will be taught at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden.

Ku-ring-gai Council hopes the Eco Festival will allow community members to enhance their knowledge of the unique environment encasing Ku-ring-gai.

Bookings for the events are essential.
