The Pressler Project

FROM the age of three, April Pressler was surrounded by music with her mother being a noted classical singer and pianist. But rather than classical music, April became an avid fan of contemporary music, singing with top rock bands in Sydney, after beginning with folk, then R&B, blues and jazz. In recent years, her resonant contralto voice can be heard in voice-overs and as a professional book narrator.

April began her daytime career in journalism, moving into the diplomatic service; and more recently as a book editor, media consultant and strategic advisor on government and international media.

She has combined her music passion and media skills into radio production with a weekly two-hour programme, and created a show that focuses on the latest releases of ambient, chill, down-tempo lounge and dance electronica genres.

Periodically she includes indigenous music and interviews music artists, indigenous and cultural leaders, local government members and other noteworthy personalities.

She almost entirely presents brand new releases in her weekly program on Northside Radio, and she resonates with an audience that is keen to enjoy her unique journey of music that appeals to a world-wide audience. The addictive music she finds uses rhythmic sounds and melodies that easily transport her listeners via the airwaves to the warm environs of the Spanish island of Ibiza, the global centre of chill and ambient music producers.

Join April every Saturday from 4pm for her latest mix of contemporary music rarely heard elsewhere. She virtually never plays the same tracks twice.
